Landing craft arrives on the shores of Beloxi, Misssissippi

Biloxi, Miss. (Sept. 4, 2005) – A Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC), from the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7), arrives on the shores of Biloxi, Miss., to render assistance to Hurricane Katrina survivors. The Navy's involvement in the Hurricane Katrina humanitarian assistance operations is led by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in conjunction with the Department of Defense.
