Submerged City - Photos and images of the great city of New Orleans, Louisiana eighty percent underwater.Hurricane Katrina photos of New Orleans, Louisiana underwater after canal and Lake Pontchartrain levees were breached and eighty percent of the city was flooded due to massive storm surge of Katrina. It took weeks and weeks to pump the water from the city and many areas in and around New Orleans and surrounding parishes were completely destroyed by the polluted floodwaters. St Bernard Parish and the Ninth Ward suffered quite possibly the most massive destruction from from the breached levees. |
